Virginia M. Taylor holds an A.R.C.T. from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto, where she studied with Patricia Blomfield-Holt, and pursued post diploma studies with Gordon Hallett. She continues to study through many varied music courses, master classes and workshops. Her busy schedule includes accompanying a school choir and school theatrical productions, as well as conducting a Senior Church Choir.

Virginia is a member of the college of Examiners for RCM Examinations, and is currently Pedagogical Advisor for the RCM Examinations Newsletter, "Music Matters". She has also had many articles published in this Newsletter. Virginia is also an active member in the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association, both at the Provincial Level in the past, and currently is President of the Etobicoke Mississauga Branch. Virginia is a board member and piano consultant for the Davenport Music Festival; the longest running Festival in the City of Toronto. She is also a board member of the Alliance for Canadian New Music Projects, and is on the syllabus committee, a committee which constantly reviews new Canadian compositions. Virginia is on the board of Contemporary Showcase in Mississauga, a Festival of Contemporary Canadian Music celebrated each November during Canada Music Week.

Virginia Taylor currently teaches piano, rudiments, harmony and history privately, and is active as an adjudicator for music festivals across Ontario.

Virginia aims to instill her students with a profound love of learning, and an enjoyment of music that will be with them for their entire life. She believes music instruction should be not only educational, but fun and exciting, and endeavours to create this environment in her studio.
