Richard Summers is an honours graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Music. He has performed extensively as a duo and ensemble guitarist, and is an examiner for both the University of Toronto and The Royal Conservatory of Music.

Mr. Summers has 28 years of teaching experience, and has recently completed a comprehensive three-volume instructional method for classical guitar. He currently operates the Toronto Guitar Institute, where he specializes in teaching classical guitar and popular style vocal accompaniment.
