Etobicoke Mississauga Branch Newsletter - September 2003Message from the President Dear Colleagues, I must admit that I am thrilled and honoured to assume the presidency of this branch blessed with so many capable colleagues and I look forward to the challenge of continuing the excellent work of our past president, Lita Zagala. We are a team and have strength because of our collective efforts to function together. I welcome your incentives and ideas and shall do my best to exercise leadership that reflects our values in the mission statement: To promote excellence in music education;To promote a life long love of music in our students; and To provide fellowship and professional growth among members. One of my goals will be to seek to expand our membership, and to increase our visibility in the community we serve. Fran Macerollo, President Major Change Since the Provincial Conference and competition will be held in July 2004, the Levels A & B competitions will take place in Spring 2004 instead of December 2003. All branches of ORMTA are encouraged to participate as a joint charity effort, in the memory of Terry Fox and the battle against cancer. There are three Terry Fox sites in Etobicoke and four in Mississauga. Charlotte and Wallace Sherriff will be doing the 8 km. run in Etobicoke’s West Deane Park site. Some monies have already been collected from Charlotte’s Etobicoke-Mississauga colleagues. Many thanks, official receipts will be sent at a later date.
