Katya Pine has her Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition from the University of Toronto and has taught music for more than 30 years. A published composer and recipient of the prestigious Chalmers Award, she continues to write music for film, television, concert music, musical theatre and for study. She has extensive performance experience in: orchestral performing, recording studios, live theatre, concert halls, jazz clubs, popular, contemporary and ethnic music ensembles, chamber music ensembles and accompaniment work. Katya Pine continues to teach music of all styles to people of all ages. Located in Thornhill, her state of the art studio provides an excellent learning facility for students who are interested in:

Katya ‘s focus is to stimulate and excite the enthusiasm of her students’ music-making by presenting opportunities to explore all types of music. Her composition students continue to win awards and scholarships at the Provincial and National levels.
