Koichi Inoue earned a Doctor of Music in Piano Performance, as well as Master and Bachelor degrees from Indiana University School of Music, where he studied with the late Distinguished Professor Gyorgy Sebok for ten years, and subsequently with the late Professor Emeritus Michel Block. In addition, he participated in master classes with renowned performers and pedagogues in Europe, such as Pascal Roge, Hans Leygraf, Andrzej Jasinski, among others.
At Indiana University, he had taught secondary piano as an Associate Instructor for three years and won the university's concerto competition twice. Shortly before his university studies, he performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as a result of winning a competition, and toured in Germany with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. He held a few term-contract teaching faculty positions at Canadian Universities in the past; as a Visiting Assistant Professor (2003) and as a Lecturer (2002) at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and as Contact Academic Staff at Wilfrid Laurier University (2004).
