Studies and Influences:

Jennifer Rebecca Wong is an associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, where she studied performance with James Anagnoson in the resident ARCT program. There, she benefited from master classes with Leon Fleisher, John Perry, and André Laplante. Ms. Wong worked with renowned pianists Hakon Austbo, Malcolm Bilson, and Murray Perahia, and had given several concerts throughout Western Europe, where she lived for six years. At the Conservatory of Amsterdam, she studied performance, pedagogy (with a focus on gifted children), and music theory with a specialization in analysis. Intensive workshops took her to London, Brussels, and Vienna.

Vision:

Jennifer is a passionate educator and coach focusing her teaching on the art and understanding of music as language. She believes this encourages the development of aware and thinking musicians thereby enhancing the inherent joy of music making. Indeed, her interests in perceptual processes as they relate to language, sound, motoric development, and neural plasticity, has led her to pursue studies in neuropsychology at the University of Toronto.

Teaching:

A member of the RCM’s college of examiners, Jennifer Rebecca Wong continues to be active as an adjudicator and clinician. She maintains her busy Yorkville music studio, Clever Keys Music Academy: Developing Sound Minds where she teaches private piano lessons, musicianship, and music appreciation classes.
