Biography

Susan is an experienced violin teacher with a broad professional background. She is a graduate of McGill and Concordia Universities, the Conservatoire de musique du Québec, and the Université de Montréal.

She has been a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, principal second violinist in the North Bay Symphony, and a writer-researcher for the Encyclopedia of Music in Canada at the National Library in Ottawa - in addition to a range of teaching activities. In Toronto, she was a Violin Faculty member at the Royal Conservatory of Music Community School;music specialist for the Toronto French School; and Director of the University Settlement Music & Arts School.

Susan teaches classical violin and theory rudiments at her private studio, Creative Strings. Students will develop traditional technique and general musicianship. There is an annual class workshop and recital. RCM exams are optional.

For 2007-08 Susan is accepting some beginners (age 7 and up) as well as intermediate and advanced students. Adults with previous playing experience are welcome.
