Lara Solnicki is a classically trained singer and writer. She studied in both the Bachelor and Artist Diploma Programs at the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music where she was the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards.
Lara has extensive experience as a performer of operatic and concert repertoire, and is well-versed in jazz and pop styles. She has participated in international music festivals and workshops all across Canada, in art song, chamber music, traditional and contemporary opera.
Additional studies include two years as a full-time student at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Centre in New York City.
An active contemporary music collaborator, in March 2006, Lara performed two of her poems set for voice and piano by Canadian composer Robert Rival. In Fall 2006, Lara launched her first book of poems published by Lyricalmyrical Press.
Lara is available for itinerant teaching (house visits) in addition to teaching from her home studio. She is fluent in French.
