A published author, Dr. Araxie Altounian is also active as a performer, lecturer and a workshop clinician. She currently serves as Music Director of the Markham Music Festival.

With 20 years of music teaching experience, Dr. Altounian maintains a dynamic piano class both in her private studio in Thornhill, and at the Euromusic Centre of Music Studies in Markham. Her students are regularly involved in music festivals, auditions and recitals, as well as RCM examinations, most of them obtaining First Class Honours marks.
