Sophia has been teaching for 16 years and she was NCM faculty from 1994 to 2000. Many of her students successfully passed their RCM exams from grades one to ARCT; participated in competitions, music festivals, student recitals and university graduation concerts.

Sophia holds an ARCT’s teacher Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and was a formal student of the Glenn Gould School where she studied piano with Boris Zarankin and piano pedagogy with Marina Geringas, Daryl Irvine, Boyanna Toyich and Lynda Metelsky. She received first prizes with scholarship awarded in Kiwanis Music Festival in 1991, as well.

At present, Sophia teaches at MUSICA music school in East York and in her music studio in North York West. She has also been appointed adjudicator at NCM annual Festival since 2001.
