Mehdi Javanfar has over twenty years of teaching experience. His method has been described as progressive. Mehdi is passionate about music, and highly committed to his students’ success. In teaching violin and piano, he emphasizes the need for the students to take steps in analyzing the piece with as much Theoretical background as they have. In performance, he stresses the importance of music-making. Mehdi encourages the students to express their ideas and emotions in accordance to the characteristic features of different styles. Mehdi is also active in preparing candidates for RCM Theory examinations in different subjects and grades. He has sent hundreds of candidates to RCM Examinations over the years.

Mehdi Javanfar holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Michigan, where he was two times recipient of the Graduate Merit Awards in Conducting. Mehdi is a member of Orchestras’ Canada, and Conductors‘ Guild of America. He is also a member of the College of Examiners at the Royal Conservatory of Music.
