Greater Toronto Area Zone Competitions

Senior vocal & instrumental students of ORMTA members can advance to our annual zone competitions by qualifying through auditions being held at any one of our nine GTA branches.

The competitions will be held on
Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Music Gallery.

The application deadline is Monday, April 21, 2008.

Piano Competition

The School of Music at UBC is pleased to announce a new Piano Competition for pianists 17-25 years of age. Entrants for the first round will submit a DVD by Nov. 20, 2007 and eight finalists will come to UBC for the Finals Feb. 22-24, 2008.

Featuring the Canadian National Conservatory of Music (CNCM) Examination Program

Our Presenter is Debra Wanless, Principal and founding member of CNCM, will be showing us a radically different approach to student examinations where family and friends are encouraged to attend in a recital atmosphere to hear the student’s program, which could be centered around a main theme, or could include oral presentations and pieces played on other instruments, or ensembles, or original compositions, and encores!
